Bishop Hansel H. Henry is a preacher of the gospel. He has carried this gospel throughout the United States and abroad. He has a burden for the under privileged and the down trodden. He believes that the church has a duty to empower God’s people to prosper and to be in good health. He has copyrighted a document entitled “Developing a Health Care Ministry in a Pentecostal Church as a New Paradigm for the 21st Century.” He has written articles that bring clarity in understanding churches that are mega, medium and small in size. He helps each of these institutional entities to see their role in the kingdom of God.
He is the newly appointed Executive Vice Bishop of the International Mt. Calvary Holy Churches of American, Inc., and the Senior Pastor Emeritus of New Calvary Life Temple in Baltimore, Maryland. Bishop Henry has served this organization for more than 39 years. He has a high commitment to see this denomination improve.
Bishop Henry has earned his bachelor’s degree in Philosophy at Morgan University, a Master of Theology in Social Ethics at Boston University, and a Doctor of Ministry at United Theology Seminary.
He is the husband of 39 years to the renowned preacher and singer Co-Pastor Deloris C. Henry. His adult children Erica Henry Washington and Hansel H. Henry, III are products of Mt. Calvary. While neither of his children has accepted a call in ministry yet, they both love the church and depend on the Lord for the successes in their lives.
In addition to his ministry avocation Bishop Henry has a second profession as an educator. He established the Baltimore Christian Academy in his own local church and serves as a Middle School Math Teacher in the Baltimore City Public School System., and is an Adjunct Professor in Philosophy at Coppin State University, in Baltimore, Maryland. He has a goal of seeing an educational arm of the church at the Jurisdictional, National, and International levels.
As the Executive Vice Bishop, his desires would be to stand firm, and walk profoundly for the cause of Christ in leadership of this great church. Taking on an apostolic appointment in leadership, directing, appointing, delivering and accomplishing the goals of advancing the kingdom of God; he is excited for this time God has prepared him for, all his life.
Bishop Henry is thankful for the opportunities of service to our great church. Walking beside the great leadership of Bishop Harold I. Williams, Senior Bishop Emeritus; Bishop Henry now serves with Bishop Alfred A Owens, Senior Prelate of the International Mt. Calvary Holy Churches., as The Executive Vice Bishop. To God Be the Glory for the great things He has done.
